Issues of Bilateral Commodity Turnover are in the Spotlight of Cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Sweden

Today, a meeting of Head of foreign office of the PMR Nina Shtanski with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova Ingrid Tersman took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. The Pridnestrovian delegation included First Deputy Minister for Economic Development Alevtina Slinchenko, Vice-Chairman of State Customs Committee Boris Panko, Chief of State Service for Assistance to Investment and Business Activity Svetlana Malysheva, Vice-President of Association of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs Yuri Cheban. Participating in the event was also Deputy Head of Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova Bjorn Kavalkov-Halvarsson.



The meeting was mainly focused on issues of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic sphere.



Ingrid Tersman told that currently Embassy pays particular attention to the study of the situation in the Pridnestrovian enterprises. In the conversation she marked that Pridnestrovie exports high quality competitive products.



In the course of the dialogue the sides defined areas of cooperation to increase commodity turnover between Pridnestrovie and Sweden. Boris Panko marked that only in the 9 months of current year PMR has exported goods at the sum of more than 2 mln.U.S. dollars. However, in his opinion, these figures cannot be regarded as optimistic. The sides agreed to deepen cooperation in foreign trade.



Interlocutors also discussed a number of issues relating to bilateral cooperation in humanitarian sphere. In particular, draft agreement between Pridnestrovian State University after T.G. Shevchenko and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga was agreed upon. Besides, interlocutors touched upon issues of work of expert/working groups of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, discussed results of scientific and expert activities in the sphere of economy and education which took place in the second half of June 2012 in Sweden and Austria.



Nina Shtanski thanked Swedish diplomat for consistent work on promotion of joint projects.
