Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR spoke about the results of his visit to Moscow

Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR told Pridnestrovian journalists about his visit to Moscow. Vitaly Ignatiev said that Pridnestrovie is perceived in Russia as part of the Russian world.

The Head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry held meetings with Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Gubarev and Assistant to Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Loskutov. Besides the issues of bilateral cooperation and the negotiation process, they discussed the prospects of Eurasian integration of Pridnestrovie.

“This is a priority within the framework of the foreign policy concept, so these questions require a detailed content. Especially in a difficult regional situation, the integrated pressure on the PMR exerted by the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. We currently are under threat of losing trade opportunities in European markets, given the abolition of the regime of autonomous trade preferences on the part of the EU from January 1, 2016. This issue is topical in nature, there is a need to develop methods and tools to react to the situation, to prepare integrated projects that promote development and stabilization of the socio-economic situation in our country,” - said Vitaly Ignatiev.

During the meeting with Adviser to the President of Russia Sergey Glazyev Vitaly Ignatiev discussed the socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie.

“We paid attention to a number of challenges and threats that are fraught with negative consequences for the half-million population of the PMR, all the questions were very carefully considered by the Russian side. The Pridnestrovian diplomacy has its vision of a way out of problematic situations, its own specific proposals, we have agreed to work on their implementation,” - said the acting minister.

During his visit to Moscow Vitaly Ignatiev also held a number of meetings in the State Duma. The Head of the Foreign Ministry met with Head of the Committee on International Affairs Aleksei Pushkov and Head of Interfactional group for relations with the Supreme Council of the PMR Sergei Gavrilov. The dialogue touched on the subject of security.

“The actions being taken by the Moldovan side, in particular recently are destructive. They do not contribute to the formation of an atmosphere of trust, they are aimed at undermining the foundations of the peacekeeping operation. All these moments are very serious challenge for the Russian side as well, so we offer our partners to step up their participation to ensure the interests, including through the Parliament of the Russian Federation,” - said Vitaly Ignatiev.

He also noted that following the results of the visit understanding on most issues was found. The development of areas of joint work is under way now.
