On 4 December, an online meeting of expert (working) groups on transport and road infrastructure development was held at the initiative of the Pridnestrovian side.
The restoration of the full activity of the Vehicle Registration Offices in Tiraspol and Rybnitsa was one of the key issues. In this regard, the Pridnestrovian side proposed to set a specific date for the opening of the VRO without preconditions as a timely and adequate step that meets the interests of people. The representatives of the Pridnestrovian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in turn, reported a technical possibility and readiness to launch the VRO mechanism of car registration within a week.
Separately, the meeting focused on the difficulties encountered by economic agents when importing vehicles to Pridnestrovie through the customs of the Republic of Moldova. In this context, the Pridnestrovian side came up with a mechanism of information exchange between the customs authorities of the parties.
Also, the issue of motor vehicle liability insurance and other aspects in the transport sphere were discussed.
