Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR informed the highest legislative body of the republic on activity of expert (working) groups of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Moldova on the issues of telecommunication and mail service.

The letter draws attention to the fact, that expert groups were created in Pridnestrovie as special mechanism of interaction with Moldova as early as the year 2008. The issues of telecommunication, mail service and Mass Media were discussed on the level of representatives of specialized institutions of the sides. In 2009-2011 Pridnestrovian delegation was headed by Vladimir Belyaev holding the post of Minister of Information and Telecommunication of the PMR. During this period the agenda included the following issues: “interaction in the sphere of radio frequency spectrum; the exclusion of use of electronic means for creation of intentional interference; interaction in the sphere of fixed telephone communication; settlement of relations between postal operators of Moldova and Pridnestrovie, including the relations on international postings and electronic postal money transfers”.

In 2012 this direction of activity received new impetus. On February 13, 2012 the PMR's expert group on the issues of telecommunication and mail service was formed by the order of the President of the PMR.

The first meeting within the framework of expert (working) groups from Pridnestrovie and Moldova on the issues of communication took place on March 29, 2012. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR emphasizes, that the agenda of discussed issues was preserved in its entirety.

At present time one meeting of expert (working) groups of the sides on the issues connected with telecommunication and mail service was held. The PMR's MFA noted, that the work did not result in agreement on any issue. The consultations are being held.
