The Minister pointed out extremely acute character of the problem triggered by the unilateral actions of Moldova and Ukraine and also noted that efforts by all international participants to the negotiating process are required to settle this. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the current stage it is the most appropriate to discuss the situation at the meeting of the “Permanent Conference...” in the 5+2 format according to initiative of Pridnestrovian side put forward in August this year.

During the meeting the sides addressed a number of other relevant aspects in the relations of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, including plans of Moldova and Ukraine to establish a joint customs and border control at the Kuchurgan checkpoint. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev confirmed the unchanged position of the Pridnestrovian side concerning the inadmissibility of the implementation of this destructive unilateral decision taken outside the framework of the negotiation process that could seriously undermine the stability in the entire region.
