The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR welcomed the decision of the Moldovan side to facilitate accommodation and professional conditions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for the medical staff concerned during the lockdown.

The Pridnestrovian side has initially been consistent in proposing this recommendation to Moldovan representatives and welcomes this long-overdue decision taking into account the international and Pridnestrovian experience in coronavirus infection containment based on people’s life and health care.

The PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviewed the representative on political issues from the Republic of Moldova Cristina Lesnic’s statements on convening a kind of “emergency” video meeting with the “5 + 2” format representatives’ participation.

As able to see, due to the lack of convincing arguments, the Moldovan side is demonstrating a critical decline in its professional level and that negatively affects the dialogue quality and impedes progress in the settlement.

A whole series of objective facts completely offsets Chisinau’s speculative attacks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs got acquainted with the Office of the Representative for Political Affairs of the Republic of Moldova information message which states that Pridnestrovie did not allegedly respond about a regular meeting of Expert (Working) Groups on health issues holding.

This information is incorrect since the answer was indeed sent on April 8.

As announced today beginning with March 10, current year the Republic of Moldova introduces the ban on entry for foreign citizens and stateless persons not having citizenship or a residence permit in the Republic of Moldova who arrive through the Kishinev airport from countries where cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic drew attention to the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon’s comment on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian dialogue, the content of which contradicts the real situation in the negotiation process characterized by an atmospheric degradation and the Moldovan’s side inability to fulfill the taken obligations.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR considers it necessary to make a number of clarifications.

The Foreign Ministry of the PMR read the statement of the OSCE Ministerial Summit in Bratislava on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement process in the 5+2 format.

The range of trite formulations repetition in the declaration demonstrates a certain inertia of the approach and does not reflect the real reasons for the negotiation process stagnation in 2019, due to Moldova’s refusal to implement the set of commitments and the failure to sign the Bratislava Protocol to discredit the 5+2 international format.

Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry reviewed the reaction of the Moldovan Political Representative Office regarding the number of Moldavian nationals residing in Pridnestrovie and notes with pleasure the sensitivity of Moldavian authorities to the position of the Pridnestrovian President, as well as citing his utterance.

The Pridnestrovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that, in accordance with the Protocol Decision On Opening Gura-Bykuluy-Bychok Bridge over Dniester River, as well as within the current agreements in the negotiation process, the sector experts will conduct instrumental inspection of the bridge from August 20 to the end of October 2019. The purpose of the inspection is to prepare a feasibility study for further reconstruction of the facility, including launching traffic of vehicles with nominal weight over 10 tons.

Pridnestrovie pays close attention to the ongoing political confrontation in the Republic of Moldova and calls political forces of neighbouring country to be restraint and to ensure peace and stability.

We express the hope that the worsening political crisis will not harm the ability of the Republic of Moldova to implement the agreements in the negotiating process that focused on solving urgent social and humanitarian issues in the interests of the people.

A meeting of the PMR Security Council chaired by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky was held today. The central issue on the agenda was the situation related to the introduction of martial law in some regions of Ukraine, including the Odessa and Vinnytsia regions bordering Pridnestrovie.

During the meeting, the members of the meeting agreed a plan of action in the current circumstances. In particular, it was decided to establish a focal point for monitoring and responding to possible changes in the situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR has noted adoption of the resolution titled “Complete and unconditional withdrawal of foreign military forces from the territory of the Republic of Moldova” by the UN General Assembly on June 22, 2018. In this connection, the Foreign Ministry points that the author of the draft document, as well as the mover is the Republic of Moldova – a party to the unsettled conflict and a participant in the trilateral peacekeeping operation that shares responsibility for preserving peace and stability on the Dniester.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR was surprised at the statements by the political representative from the Republic of Moldova Gheorghe Balan, made during the briefing on the results of today’s Bendery meeting. In particular, we refer to some alleged signals about a possible ban on the passage of vehicles with Pridnestrovian numbers through the territory of Ukraine.

The Foreign Ministry considers such statements irresponsible, manipulative and aimed at creating public nervousness about the freedom of movement of vehicles.

Today, by the Government decision of the Republic of Moldova,  Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the Russian President on Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin was declared ‘persona non grata’ in the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
