An online meeting of representatives on political issues and experts on road transport from Pridnestrovie and Moldova took place.

The Pridnestrovian side initiated the meeting. It was devoted to discussing the crisis situation within the road transport that got aggravated when Moldova and Ukraine announced prohibitive measures in relation to cars possessing Pridnestrovian license plates.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev held a meeting with the delegation from the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue, headed by David Gorman, the regional director of the organization for Eurasia.

Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk and Yosha Niermeier, Project Manager of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in Ukraine and Moldova attended the meeting as well.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects and potential of expert interaction on topical issues.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs got acquainted with the information that starting from September 1 current year, Ukraine plans to introduce a movement ban on its territory for vehicles registered in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic; an exception would make vehicles with neutral license plates.

A videoconference meeting of Expert (Working) Group on Education Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova took place today.

As part of the communication, the parties discussed ways to solve some of the difficulties associated with the use of apostilled diplomas of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko, certain functioning aspects for schools teaching in the Romanian language and located in Pridnestrovie during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as other educational issues of interest to the parties.

The Russian delegation is paying official mission visit to Pridnestrovie. It is headed by Vitaly Tryapitsyn, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, who represents Russia in the Pridnestrovian-Moldovan negotiation process. In this capacity, the Russian diplomat is visiting the republic for the first time, but in general, his visits to Pridnestrovie, as well as participation in the negotiations, are of a systemic nature.

The Pridnestrovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs keeps receiving information that on the Ukrainian-Pridnestrovian border, at the Kuchurgany check point, the Republic of Moldova’s border officials are spreading rumors that allegedly, starting from March 15, current year, the movement of Pridnestrovian vehicles, except from those possessing neutral plates, will be limited.

The meeting of the Head of the Pridnestrovian State Vadim Krasnoselsky with the OSCE delegation took place at the site of the Pridnestrovian President’s Administration. Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev represented the receiving party. The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting was accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Klaus Neukirch with advisers and by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Moldova Anna Lieberg.

The Foreign Ministry hosted the meeting of Vitaly Ignatiev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR with Thomas Mayr-Harting, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. Anna Lyberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Klaus Neukirch attended the meeting as well.

For three days, January 20-22, 2021, representatives of the TMR authorities took part in an online training on capacity building in the field of Human Rights standards.

The UN Office arranged the event for members of the Working Group created by the President of the PMR’s order and aimed at developing a comprehensive document defining the legal regulation vector of the legal framework in the field of Human Rights in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

A video conference format dialogue was held at the level Expert (Working) Groups on Healthcare issues. The only issue on the agenda of the meeting was cooperation organization aimed at vaccinating the population against COVID-19.

The parties discussed certain aspects related to the expected vaccine receipt, its storage and use, as well as informing the population about vaccination’s usefulness.

Just as within previous meetings, the key issue for discussion was seizure of a number of goods that belong to commercial Pridnestrovian entities. The Pridnestrovian side called for eliminating the unjustified practice when obstructing road and rail transportation of goods (including excisable ones) for domestic consumption to Pridnestrovie.

A videoconference format discussion of Expert (Working) Groups on Transport took place.

During the meeting, the parties analyzed the current situation in the field of international passenger transportation. The sides made a decision to improve coordination and clarify aspects related to runs’ (carried out by PMR transport companies) cancellation or redistribution between the territories of Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

The first meeting of the Head of the Pridnestrovian state with the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova took place at the site of Pridnestrovian President’s Administration. Welcoming Klaus Neukirch, Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the guest for the visit and expressed hope that in the coming year, unlike in 2020, the pandemic will not have a negative impact on the negotiation process. The PMR’s President emphasized that society’s life should absolutely not depend on circumstances associated with the virus spread.
