Today Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba in the framework of his official visit to Abkhazia.
The meeting resulted in intergovernmental agreements on mutual visa-free travel, as well as mutual recognition of education certificates.
Today, the PMR’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Daur Kove within the official visit to the Republic of Abkhazia. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Abkhazia Adgur Kakoba.
Today, Kishinev OSCE office hosted the meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova Vitaly Ignatiev and Gheorghe Balan for the first time in the last five months.
Tomorrow, 13th October 2016, at 11 a.m. the meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova will take place at the Kishinev OSCE office.
According to information received by the Foreign Ministry of the PMR, today, at the Kishinev airport armed police officers of the Republic of Moldova detained without explanation and then deported for 15 years Radislav Sabirov, Pridnestrovie’s defender, retired Colonel of Special Rapid Deployment Force of Tatarstan. Special Forces Veteran was in Pridnestrovie on a private visit, inter alia he took part in the festivities on the City Day of Bendery.
President Yevgeny Shevchuk received Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev. The Foreign Minister reported on the new unilateral actions by the Republic of Moldova aimed at creating additional difficulties for the Pridnestrovian economic agents.
Breakaway republics fascinate me. It’s a story of how a section of a country feels so strongly that they aren’t part of that country that they pull away, but don’t manage to separate completely. Some of these countries eventually gain independence, others don’t ever really intend to get it, and still others remain in limbo, part and yet not part of the host country.
