Regular Meeting with the Representatives of the Council of Europe Took Place in the PMR’s MFA

Today Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with Head of Division of the Directorate General of Democracy and Political Affairs of the Council of Europe Anna Capello-Brillat. Head of Council of Europe Office in the Republic of Moldova Ulvi Akhundlu also took part in the meeting. Such working meetings are systematic. On each stage of implementation of certain components of programs of the Council of Europe European representatives are conducting consultations with Pridnestrovian side and inform them on further plans on developing cooperation.



The sides discussed the results of the seminars which took place in Vienna on the issues of higher education in which representatives of Pridnestrovian and Moldovan universities took part. During the meeting the issues of support of socially vulnerable people, development of civil society, Mass Media and perspectives of trainings for Pridnestrovian journalists were discussed.



Anna Capello-Brillat noted that protection and security of human rights is a top-priority direction of the Council of Europe's work. In this connection higher education sphere is given special attention. “During our present visit we wish to meet with all Pridnestrovian stakeholders and to discuss cooperation between the Council of Europe and Pridnestrovie in context of confidence-building measures and in order to improve educational services”, – she informed.



Pridnestrovian diplomat expressed gratitude to interlocutors for implementation of number of projects by the Council of Europe. He expressed his conviction that systematic and mutually-coordinated work shall develop further in this direction. According to Vitaly Ignatiev, events organized by the Council of Europe allow Pridnestrovie to give reasons for its position to foreign partners on different international platforms.
