Today, Foreign Ministry of the PMR hosted the meeting between Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova Matthias Meyer.

The meeting was focused on the results of Vienna round of negotiations in the 5+2 format, activity of expert (working) groups and preparation for the annual conference on confidence building measures between the two banks of the Dniester to be held this fall in Germany.

Participants of the meeting pointed willingness of the sides of the negotiation process to solve socially important problems. Joint Action Plan of relevant agencies of the sides in the field of environment and sustainable use of natural resources for 2013-2014 serves as a confirmation of this. The Minister expressed concern about the number of unsolved issues, in particular, about the fact that the sides still cannot move forward with the Protocol Decision on Some First Priority Measures to Ensure Freedom of Movement for the Population of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.

During the conversation, matters of bilateral cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Germany were also discussed. In particular, Nina Shtanski told about Pridnestrovie's intention to step-up cooperation with Germany in the scientific sphere.
