The Head of the PMR’s MFA Held a Meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to the Republic of Moldova

On January 29 a. c. Nina Shtanski, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR on Issues of International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, met with Matthias Meyer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova. The meeting was also attended by the representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Sven-Joachim Irma.



Sven-Joachim Irma presented in the course of the meeting a new project of humanitarian cooperation between Germany and Pridnestrovie. A group of young German researchers will come to Pridnestrovie within the project in order to meet the youth and representatives of public organizations of our Republic and to gain closer acquaintance with Pridnestrovie. “We need to communicate without mediators. We must get a hearing. The Foreign Service for its part is ready to support such a project,” Nina Shtanski said.               



Representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation have already visited the Republic before. The Foundation is a political organization. Its main task and responsibility is promoting the principles and ideas of Konrad Adenauer, the main of which are: democracy and the rule of law, structured political dialogue between the state and society, the social market economy, freedom of the media, women's equality and their support, environmental protection, an active dialogue between different cultures.



Besides, parties discussed pressing issues on normalization of Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations in advance of the next negotiation round in the format of “Permanent Conference”. The Minister told the guests about arrangements to the forthcoming meeting of political representatives from Pridnestrovie and Moldova in Lvov.



Taking questions from journalists Nina Shtanski informed about the invitation sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR to take part in the annual Munich Security Conference 2013. “Participants of this event shall be foreign ministers of many countries. This venue raises topical issues of global security. Security in South-Eastern Europe and in Caucasus will be discussed this year. Work under the Munich Conference will certainly be useful to us,” the Head of the MFA of the PMR said.
