Today, the PMR's MFA hosted a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the delegation of the International Visegrad Fund. The Delegation comprised the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyas Szilagyi, Executive Director of the International Visegrad Fund Karla Wursterová, the Special Envoy for the Eastern Partnership Dušan DACHO, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Moldova Robert Kirnag. We note that it is the second visit of the delegation to the PMR's MFA, the first one took place in January a.c.

The participants discussed the current situation in Pridnestrovie, the problems of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement, and also a number of issues of mutual interest. In particular, Matyas Szilagyi drew attention to the opportunity of the implementation in Pridnestrovie in the areas of science, education, and in development of the mass media.  The Ambassador also noted that such meetings were a good opportunity to see the situation in the republic firsthand. 

Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized the Pridnestrovian side's openness and readiness for the constructive dialogue with all international partners. “We see direct communication as a good mechanism of interaction for getting more objective picture on all issues of interest,” – said the Diplomat. The Deputy Minister also pointed out that currently, the priority areas of potential cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Visegrad Fund are cultural and humanitarian spheres, noting that the republic had already had a successful experience of holding artistic exhibitions, cinema festivals, and musical concerts.

The sides agreed to continue cooperation on defining more optimal forms of collaboration.
