The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Palamarchuk and a delegation of the British Embassy, headed by Charge D’affaires ad Interim of Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Moldova Neil Martin.

During the discussion, Dmitry Palamarchuk and Neil Martin discussed the progress in implementing joint projects of socio-cultural nature, as well as the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.

The main focus was on the problems of railway communication. In particular, Dmitry Palamarchuk expressed concern about the refusal of Moldova from the next meeting of expert (working) groups on railway transport and communications, and urged the diplomatic corps accredited in Kishinev to involve more actively in the resolution of this situation. It was noted that the continued unilateral actions by the RM and Ukraine do not correspond to the spirit of constructive negotiations.

Interlocutors also discussed issues related to the banking blockade of Pridnestrovie and the possible assistance of the UK Embassy in developing practical ideas aimed at resolving the problem.

At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to continue direct contacts on matters of mutual interest.
