The PMR's MFA Was Visited by the Delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe

Today, the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie hosted a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation of the PMR, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski and delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe headed by the Chairman of the Congress Monitoring Committee of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the Congress Lars Molin. The delegation also included member of the Congress Monitoring Committee of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the Congress Francis Lec, member of the Current Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Regions Philippe Receveur, Secretary General of the Congress Andreas Kiefer, Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Local Authorities, Head of Department Jean - Philippe Bozouls and Secretary of the Monitoring Committee of the Congress Olesya Savka. We should note that the representatives of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe for the first time visited Pridnestrovie. Within the visit, the delegation met with the leadership of the State Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk. Nina Shtanski during her welcome address thanked the guests for aspiring to "see and understand independently how the Republic and Pridnestrovian people live ".  "Pridnestrovie is open for representatives of the international community. Unfortunately, the "Pridnestrovian issue" has acquired artificially created myths and stereotypes for many last years. Nevertheless, when our western partners come here, they see many things in a completely different way, "- said the diplomat.  In turn, Lars Molin praised the openness of the Pridnestrovian side, which, according to the European colleagues, is a valuable component in building dialogue - principle and value underlying the work of the Council of Europe. "I would like to emphasize that we came here to learn and hear more. Therefore it is very important that we have the opportunity to conduct such meetings, during which we can share information, "- said the head of the delegation. The participants also discussed the topical issues of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. In particular, special attention was paid to the problems of forced documenting Pridnestrovian citizens by the competent authorities of Moldova, land use in Dubossary District and functioning of Romanian schools, located in Pridnestrovie.
