President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk holds a meeting with Ambassador of the RF in the RM Farit Mukhametshin

President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Farit Mukhametshin. They discussed aspects of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation on a number of directions. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski.

The dialogue focused on the matter of issuing Russian citizenship in the on-site point of the consular department of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova, located in Tiraspol. The sides noted the need to take measures to expedite the procedure. “The work of the point has been established for a short time, but the amount of work we still have to do requires extra effort. In a very short time we will decide with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RF on opportunities connected with the provision of technical equipment, an increase in employees of the consular point that people can obtain citizenship more quickly”, - said Farit Mukhametshin.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of a large-scale Russian-Pridnestrovian humanitarian project which involves the complete replacement of the book stock in all schools of the PMR. “Ceremonial presentation of the schoolbooks will be held on the Day of Knowledge – on the 1st of September. I express my gratitude to the Russian side, the Ambassador, officials of the Russian Federation, to all those who helped the realization of the project. In difficult times Russia pays attention to Pridnestrovie. The books based on modern teaching methodologies are really needed to teachers and students of our educational institutions,” - said the President.

The diplomats of the Embassy of the Russian Federation plan to attend the events where new schoolbooks will be passed to the Pridnestrovian schools. “The project, which was implemented on the initiative of Yevgeny Vasilyevich, is coming to a conclusion, and educational institutions of the republic will get new schoolbooks entirely. Schoolbooks in such amount have not been published over the past 20 years in Pridnestrovie,”- said Farit Mukhametshin.
