Alexandr Stetsiuk Received a Delegation from the University of Bonn

The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Stetsiuk and a delegation from the University of Bonn composed of Adjunct Professor, Doctor of Science, Senior Researcher at the Bonn International Center for Conversion Andreas Heinemann-Grüder and Doctor of Science Anastasia Felcher.

The University of Bonn is one of Germany's largest and most prominent universities. The research project, the Bonn International Center for Conversion at the University is currently working on, focuses on the phenomenon of the emerging states, including in the post-Soviet space, as well as on the comparative analysis of their state building models and the drawing up of recommendations on how to build an international approach to relations with these state entities.

As part of the discussion, Alexandr Stetsiuk briefly described the history of the Pridnestrovian statehood, as well as the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the emergence of two subjects in the form of the PMR and the RM.

The researchers were also interested in issues related to the prospects for the Pridnestrovie-Moldova relations normalization. In this regard, the diplomat addressed several key aspects which distinguish the dialogue between the parties and dwelt on the current situation in the negotiation process.

In addition, at the interlocutors' request, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR highlighted the issue of international participants' influence and role in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement.
