04/02/21

During his working visit to Moscow, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky held meetings at the site of the Official Representation of Pridnestrovie. Today, he talked with Alexander Brod, the member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, Director of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev and the head of the PMR Official Representation in Moscow, Leonid Manakov attended the discussion as well.

Interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation in Pridnestrovie and the processes taking place around the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to dialogue stagnation with the Republic of Moldova since Kishinev refuses fulfilling its obligations within the framework of the negotiation process in a wide range of socio-economic and humanitarian areas. According to the Head of the Pridnestrovian state, the irresponsible behavior of the Moldovan side does negatively affect the general relations atmosphere whilst the unilateral restrictive measures that Kishinev is implementing against Pridnestrovie, including the announced by the Republic of Moldova plans to restrict freedom of movement and increase economic pressure, violate the rights and freedoms of Pridnestrovian citizens. In this context, Vadim Krasnoselsky and Alexander Brod discussed bilateral interaction parameters with an emphasis on protecting the rights and interests of Russian citizens and compatriots living in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and agreed to develop cooperation in this direction.

The head of Pridnestrovie emphasized the Russian Federation’s most important stabilizing role as a peacemaker and a guarantor country in the negotiation process. He expressed gratitude to the Russian side for its support, including the expected provision to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic of the Russian-made vaccine, which is of particular importance for protecting the lives and health of people in the fight against the pandemic.

Ending the meeting, the Pridnestrovian President invited Alexander Brod to visit Pridnestrovie.
