12/28/20

The Foreign Ministry hosted the meeting of the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Klaus Neukirch.

During the meeting, a wide range of topical issues within the framework of relations between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova settlement were discussed. The diplomats agreed on the negative dialogue dynamics between the parties at the current stage which is characterized by the emergence of new problematic aspects.

In particular, the Pridnestrovian side informed the Head of the OSCE Mission about restrictions the Republic of Moldova imposed on Pridnestrovian enterprises, including the Almavis company, related to products import and the lack of proper response from Chisinau to resolve this issue. According to the Minister, Pridnestrovian cargo is being illegally held on Moldovan territory under a far-fetched pretext, and this generates additional tension in the relations between the parties.

Continuing the discussion, Vitaly Ignatiev and Klaus Neukirch exchanged views on further work in the negotiation process and expressed their commitment to prioritizing issues in the Berlin + package agreements and mutual focus on early implementation of previously reached agreements in the interests of improving people's lives.

Interlocutors paid as well attention to the prospects of holding a "5 + 2" format meeting and to the parameters of work in the context of Sweden's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2021.

Ending the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain the traditionally high dynamics of interaction across the entire spectrum of topical issues.
