12/02/20

The Head of Pridnestrovian State met with the delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Moldova, at the site of Pridnestrovian President's Administration. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Stephen Fischer communicate for the third time this year. Among other things, the current visit of the British diplomat is associated with the supply of humanitarian PPE aid to Pridnestrovie, necessary in the fight against coronavirus. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the decision to send humanitarian aid to Pridnestrovians is, in fact, Steven Fischer's personal contribution to the struggle of Pridnestrovians against the infection spread and therefore, for the lives of people. The diplomat, in turn, noted that the brought protective equipment is not only practical help but also a symbol of involvement and support from the British Embassy. The interlocutors discussed the measures taken to counter the pandemic, both in Pridnestrovie and the UK and in the world in general.

The parties spoke about the situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The "Permanent meeting ..." format is no longer acting, the working groups stand idle, the commitments that Chisinau had previously taken are not being fulfilled, Vadim Krasnoselsky stated. The dialogue is further complicated by the electoral processes in Moldova and by the pandemic factor. However, consistent work within the framework of current negotiating agenda should not stop under any circumstances, the President of the PMR outlined Pridnestrovie’s invariable position. The meeting participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to the "5 + 2" format work, as well as on the interaction through the British Embassy and agreed to continue maintaining working contacts.
