The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the meeting of the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Mr. Steven Fisher, Her Majesty’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting interlocutors had a detailed discussion on relevant aspects regarding the current situation within the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev pointed to the Republic of Moldova’s steps that impede settling the existing problems between the sides and made an emphasis on the fact that Kishinev does not fulfill the taken obligations in the framework of the Berlin+ package agreements. In this context, the Head of the PMR’s MFA emphasized the absence of progress within resolving issues related to inter-bank cooperation, transport, telecommunication and criminal cases.

As a follow up to the discussion, diplomats exchanged views on further Moldovan-Pridnestrovian dialogue prospective in the context of the need for shifting International Community’s paradigm and approaches subject to existing precedents and the 30 years- experience of building the Pridnestrovian state amidst the Republic of Moldova permanently obstructing the negotiation process.

Ending the meeting, the sides agreed to preserve a working communication across the whole spectrum of topical areas of interaction.
