On the On-Line Meeting between the Pridnestrovian Government and WHO Representatives

At the  PMR Government's site took place an online meeting with the delegation of the World Health Organization led by Igor Pokanevich, WHO Representative in Moldova. The discussion was also attended by  UNICEF and the OSCE representatives.

The Pridnestrovian side was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev, acting Minister of Health Elena Kulichenko, the first deputy head of the department Kristina Albul and the chief doctors of medical institutions involved in the fight against the new type of coronavirus infection: Natalia Beril (State Institution “Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology”), Vladimir Pelin (State Institution “Republican Clinical Hospital”), Igor Tostanovsky (State Institution“  Infectious Diseases Hospital in Slobodzeya ”), Andrey Guranda (State Institution“ Bendery Center for Mother and Child ”).

During the meeting, the parties discussed pressing issues of bilateral cooperation with a focus on the planned monitoring mission of WHO in Pridnestrovie. In particular, the interlocutors recaped in details on organizational and technical aspects for the upcoming visit, including the agenda and the event program elaboration.

Continuing the communication, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in the fight against COVID-19 in the PMR. In this context, representatives of the World Health Organization were informed about measures being taken to improve the epidemiological situation in the republic. Special attention was paid discussing substantive assistance parameters provision planned by WHO  to Pridnestrovie.

It is expected that the monitoring mission of the World Health Organization might arrive in Pridnestrovie next week.
