Vadim Krasnoselsky Summarized the Working Meeting with the OSCE Delegation

01/24/20

The Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a three-hours meeting in Bendery with the OSCE European delegation headed by Thomas Mayr-Harting the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

This meeting was necessary. We stated our position, proves and arguments, but also heard the OSCE representative’s opinion about the settlement issues agenda.

«Many of them keep relevance over a quite long period of time. In addition, there are all new problematic aspects that need to be addressed. The most acute problems highlighted were the Pridnestrovian enterprises’ bank accounts closed by Moldova, the lack of progress from the Moldovan side to stop politically motivated criminal cases against Pridnestrovian officials, and telecommunications issues. Everyone knows the current situation when the Republic of Moldova banned the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing for vehicles with Pridnestrovian or neutral plates, if the driver possesses a license issued in Pridnestrovie. I indicated that we immediately respond in case of Pridnestrovians rights violation. At the moment, Moldova has announced the suspension of the ban, and therefore the implementation of the Pridnestrovian decision on mirror responses has been frozen. In case of new rights and interests of the PMR’s citizen encroachments, we will act in a similar way. Generally, the conversation with Mr. Mayr-Harting and his colleagues turned out to be really a working one. The Special Representative showed the awareness of the situation and at the same time showed interest in hearing our point of view. We hope that the meeting will be productive - it will contribute to the negotiation process intensification and the solution of problems urgent for Pridnestrovie.”   - noted, summing up the discussion, the President of the PMR. In addition, Vadim Krasnoselsky said that during the meeting he appealed to the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting and the Head of the Mission Klaus Neukirch with a request to assist in the speedy release of the Pridnestrovian citizen, held by the security forces of the Republic of Moldova.

Ending the meeting, Vadim Krasnoselsky stated the interlocutors agreed on further cooperation, maintaining working contacts and intensifying efforts aimed at maintaining the functionality of the negotiation mechanisms.
