Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR met with the Japanese Professor

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with Director of Center of Slavic Studies of the Hokkaido University, Dr. of Law Kimitaka Matsuzato.



Interlocutors discussed issues connected with current foreign-political situation around the PMR and new directions of development of international contacts of the Republic. During the meeting special attention was devoted to the issues of Eurasian integration of Pridnestrovie.



Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev informed Japanese scholar that today Eurasian integration becomes a strategic vector of development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. “We are conducting active work to define concrete parameters and mechanisms of Pridnestrovian participation in Eurasian structures in different formats”, – Pridnestrovian diplomat noted.



The sides also discussed topics of the peacekeeping operation on Dniester, the anniversary of which was recently celebrated in Pridnestrovie and in Russia. Dr. Kimitaka Matsuzato agreed with the thesis of the effectiveness of the peacekeeping mechanism and lack of preconditions for its transformation.



In the conclusion of the meeting interlocutors agreed to activate scientific and expert cooperation, including cooperation between the Hokkaido University and the Pridnestrovian State University under T.G. Shevchenko.
