Deputy Foreign Minister Has Met with the Abkhazian State Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Camera Crew

On December 20, 2012, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev gave an interview to Abkhazian State Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. During the conversation with the journalists, the diplomat touched upon a number of actual tendencies of bilateral cooperation noting that in January, 2013 it will be the 20-th anniversary of signing of Agreement on friendship and cooperation between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia which had fixed the fact of mutual political and diplomatic recognition of both States.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev congratulated fraternal people of Abkhazia by wishing them peace, prosperity and well-being.  



For reference: creation of television in Abkhazia was preconditioned by political developments in the Republic in 1977-1978. At that period of time, the group of Abkhaz prominent public figures addressed the leadership of the country with the letter which contained disagreement with the policies of absorption and dissolution of the Abkhaz people in Georgia\'s ethnic and cultural environment carried out by the Georgian leadership. Resolution on Measures for Future Economic and Cultural Development of Abkhazian ASSR adopted by The CPSU Central Committee, the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade-Unions became the starting point in history of Abkhazian television. The first telecast of Abkhazian television went on the air on November 6, 1976.
