Vitaly Ignatiev met with U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova James Pettit

The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and James Pettit, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting the sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. Special attention was paid to the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. In particular, Vitaly Ignatiev noted importance of active participation of international mediators in the revitalization of the negotiation process, including at the “Permanent Conference...” level in the 5+2 format. “As we can see, international participants in negotiations have certain expectations in some areas of work at this stage, and I hope that all parties also have a desire to move forward. At least, Pridnestrovie has it, as we have already presented practical initiatives to resolve some acute problems” – the diplomat said.

At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to maintain contact on matters of mutual interest.
