Meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the RM Matyas Szilagyi

The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyas Szilagyi.

The sides discussed a number of topical aspects of bilateral cooperation between Hungary and Pridnestrovie, including in the framework of possible implementation of some joint projects in the social, humanitarian and tourism spheres.

During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev also informed the Hungarian diplomat on the outcome of the latest meeting of the “Permanent Conference...” in the 5+2 format, held in Berlin on 2-3 June this year. According to the Head of the PMR’s MFA, the Protocol signed on the results of the meeting is a kind of “road map”, the implementation of which will enable Pridnestrovie and Moldova to move consistently towards resolution of a number of sensitive issues in the socio-economic sphere. In this context, the Foreign Minister stressed out the importance of systematic and substantive cooperation between the parties in order to achieve practical results in activity areas reflected in the Protocol.

At the conclusion of the meeting the sides agreed to continue direct contacts on issues of mutual interest.
