The Day of Memory and Glory of Warriors-Internationalists

02/15/12

Dear veterans of international wars!

Patriotism, sense of duty and responsibility for the fate of our people has always been the unshakable basis of service to the Motherland. You were among the first people who rose in defense of Pridnestrovien statehood in 1992 during the aggression of Moldova against Pridnestrovie. You, the veterans of War in Afghanistan, stood against nationalism as your fathers and grandfathers stood against fascism during the Great Patriotic War.

The Day of memory and glory of warriors-internationalists reminds us about the valor of our people, about courage and heroism of those who defended the ideals of freedom and justice far from home.

15 thousands of Soviet soldiers fell in Afghanistan, 54 Pridnestroviens among them. During the struggle for freedom of our republic against the Moldovan aggressors 27 warriors-veterans of War in Afghanistan gave their lives. Let the blessed memory stay with all fallen defenders of the native land, who fulfilled their internationalist duty in the name of the Motherland.

Dear warriors-internationalists, with all your lives you proved your faith to the Soviet people and you continue to serve the people of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic. In this memorable day please accept the warmest wishes of good health, peace, prosperity and happiness to your families.
