Delegation of UNICEF in Moldova visited PMR’s MFA

Today Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev held working meeting with the UNICEF delegation headed by social policy program coordinator Sergey Burulane. Head of State Commission on Humanitarian Aid Galina Sandutsa, Medical Chief of Staff of the State Sanitary and Epidemiologic Service Alexander Pechul, Head of State Statistics Service Natalia Sluchinskaya, Director of the New Age Independent Analytical Center Elena Bobkova and UNICEF Coordinator for Monitoring and Evaluation Elena Laur also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting the sides exchanged their opinions on the process of carrying out UNICEF's project on collection of statistical data on status of children and women in spheres of healthcare, education and fight with AIDS. Participants discussed issues of technical preparation of the project and its format. As Vitaly Ignatiev pointed out, UNICEF took major financial burden in carrying out this project. Among main partners of the project are also World Health Organization and Swiss Healthcare agency.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev informed the journalists that the issue of authorizing State agency which will coordinate this project in the PMR is being discussed. As diplomat supposed, Ministry of Health and Social Security may be authorized to perform this duty. He also didn't exclude the possibility that Pridnestrovian sociological services may join this work.

According to preliminary estimations the UNICEF's project in Pridnestrovie can be launched in nearest future. The project itself will last for about a year.
