A Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and State Service for Sport of Pridnestrovie has been signed in Moscow

Today, the official ceremony of signing of the previously agreed Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of sport between the State Service for Sport of Pridnestrovie and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation took place in the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. The document was signed by Head of the State Service for Sport Ivan Fyodorovich Timotin and Deputy Minister of Sport of Russia Pavel Anatolievich Kolobkov.

As part of the meeting the sides discussed a wide range of issues associated with the establishment of system cooperation between the two countries in the sport area. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, Director of the Republican Center of Olympic reserve of the PMR Maksim Yurievich Chertykovtsev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Directorate of the PMR for Domestic Policy Nikolai Vladimirovich Mytsykov. The host country comprised Advisor to the Minister of Sport of Russia Fyodor Vladimirovich Emelianenko, representatives of the Ministry of Sport of Russia, the Federation of boxing, wrestling, rowing, sambo, rowing and canoeing of Russia, a member of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Sport of Russia Pavel Kolobkov made ​​a report on the development of Russian - Pridnestrovian sports cooperation. He said that in the regular course, there was an interaction at the level of coaches over the years and the ordering of those processes through the signing of the Memorandum would lead to its revitalization.

During the discussion, Head of the Pridnestrovian State Service for Sport expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the maintenance of the system contacts with the sports community of the republic, as well as for its continued assistance to the Pridnestrovian individual athletes. He stressed that today tens of athletes from Pridnestrovie with Russian citizenship, successfully participate in international competition at the highest level. Among them - Olympic medalists, winners of world and European championships.

Ivan Timotin presented comprehensive information on the current situation in the development of sports, including high performance sport, in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, made ​​a presentation on the status of the main sports infrastructure facilities of Pridnestrovie, achievements of Pridnestrovian athletes in international competitions, the key areas of concern faced by Pridnestrovie’s athletes. He spoke about the activities of the State Service – the principal authority of Pridnestrovie, responsible for sports policy. The meeting agreed on the need for direct official contacts for the development of cooperation in a number of sports areas.

The meeting outlined the prospects for cooperation on a range of application-oriented issues that are of high priority. Among them – study of the possibility of opening a branch of one of the Russian Olympic reserve schools in Pridnestrovie, participation of the Pridnestrovian athletes in the Spartakiads (athletic competitions), regional and all-Russia competitions, holding sports master classes in Pridnestrovie, interaction of Pridnestrovie with Rossotrudnichestvo in the sports field.

After the meeting, the Pridnestrovian delegation visited the Sports Museum, located on the territory of the Ministry. There was an agreement on the organization of cooperation in the promotion of sports.
