On September 2, 2010, solemn events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic were held in Tiraspol and other towns and regions of Pridnestrovie.

Many foreign guests arrived to congratulate the Pridnestrovien people on the Republic's jubilee, inter alia, official delegations from Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as representatives of state and regional authorities and public organizations of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Ireland.

In the morning the PMR's leadership and numerous guests laid flowers at Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol. Later on, the national flag was raised in Suvorov Square.

The central event of the Republic Day celebrations has become the military parade of Tiraspol garrison troops. This year saw not only infantry sections of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of State Security, Ministry of Justice and combatants of special forces, but also mechanized division appearing on the main square to the strains of the PMR's Armed Forces Combined Military Band. The spectators saw about a hundred of units of military hardware, including mechanized infantry combat vehicles, tanks, mortars, artillery of various calibers and multiple rocket launchers.
