Today, Foreign Ministry of the PMR hosted the meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministry of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with Deputy Head of British Embassy in the Republic of Moldova Amy Sherwood, international expert in the field of counteraction to the spread of tuberculosis Jaap Veen and representatives of NGO “Act for Involvement” (AFI) and non-profit organization “Medical-Social Programmes”. Participating in the meeting were also representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Ministry of Justice.  International experts presented outcomes of the monitoring visit relating to problematics of tuberculosis in penitentiary institutions of Pridnestrovie. During the meeting Pridnestrovian side expressed support to initiatives of international organizations on assistance in the sphere of TB prevention and control.  Following the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev told that activity of international organizations in this area has been conducted in Pridnestrovie since 2004 and is of versatile character, including pharmacological, technical and expert assistance. The diplomat stressed that implementation of proposals set out during the meeting will be based on recommendations of UN Senior Expert for Human Rights in Pridnestrovie Thomas Hammarberg.
