Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie Nina Shtanski Met with Secretary of State – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigory Karasin

Today political representative of Pridnestrovie in the process of Pridnestrovian settlement, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski met in Moscow with Secretary of State – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin.

As reported by Information and Press Department of the MFA of the RF, during the meeting the issues connected with preparation for the OSCE conference of the high level on the review of activity of expert/working groups in the process of Pridnestrovian settlement (Germany, June 20-23, 2012) and for the next official sitting of Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovian Settlement Negotiation Process (Vienna, June 2012) were discussed.

The sides once again confirmed joint position, that the issues of peacekeeping operation in the region are not included into mandate of work of Permanent Consultations and may be discussed only by the participants of the operation of maintenance of peace – Russia, Moldova, Pridnestrovie and Ukraine.

Concerning the future sitting of Permanent Consultations the sides expressed hope that it will result in final agreement on the issue of principal importance – on the equality of the sides in negotiation process, and in giving the possibility of legal existence for the document on principles and procedures of the negotiation process (the text of the document was almost coordinated during the previous sitting).

Director of Second Department for the CIS of Russian MFA V.A.Sorokin and Ambassador at Large of Russian MFA S.N.Gubarev also participated in the meeting.
