The President invited the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Martynov, the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Ruslan Mova the Minister of Internal Affairs and head of Operational Headquarter on Prevention the coronavirus spread to discuss the issue of assuring uninterrupted food and medicine supplies to Pridnestrovie during pandemic. They talked about the current situation, the current level of communication in this direction, the problems the republic is facing and the measures taken to solve them.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR continues to provide assistance to Pridnestrovian citizens who are in difficult situation due to air, rail and transport links suspension, and due to work limitation of checkpoints in many European countries, including Russia and Ukraine.

Please be advised that due to forced measures aimed at preventing the spread of the new type of coronavirus infection, such transport links as air and rail to many European countries including Ukraine and Moldova have been suspended and checkpoints have been limited.

The Pridnestrovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making efforts to assist Pridnestrovian citizens who are in a difficult situation outside the country.

In order to ensure the epidemiological well-being of population, beginning with 15:00PM, March 16, 2020, the provision of documents legalization applications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic are temporarily suspended.

The issuance of previously legalized documents to applicants will be carried out in the normal mode on working days from 10:00 to 12:00.

The PMR President convened the meeting of representatives of Expert (Working) Groups of Pridnestrovie as part of the negotiation process with the Republic of Moldova. The officials informed the Head of State about the activities of the working bodies within “Permanent Meeting ...” format in relevant areas. Sergey Obolonik introduced the Economic Issues.

The OSCE Office in Tiraspol hosted the meeting of Expert (Working) Group on transport and road facilities issues.

The sides preliminary agreed (as initiated by Pridnestrovie) to discuss within the meeting the mechanism of drivers’ licenses issuance of agreed sample.

Along with, the parties touched upon problems within Protocol decision of April, 2018 implementation. These problems prevent interested Pridnestrovian drivers to have full access to the Vehicle Registration Office.

The Foreign Ministry of the PMR hosted the meeting between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović. The PMR Human Rights Ombudsman Vyacheslav Kosinsky and the PMR Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Stetsiuk also attended the meeting.

The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatović, arrived in Pridnestrovie with an introductory mission. The Bosnian human rights activist holds the post of Commissioner since the beginning of 2018. The Institution itself has existed since 1999. Expressing gratitude to the guests for the visit, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnestrovie appreciates cooperation with the Council of Europe, especially in such an important area as human rights protection.

As announced today beginning with March 10, current year the Republic of Moldova introduces the ban on entry for foreign citizens and stateless persons not having citizenship or a residence permit in the Republic of Moldova who arrive through the Kishinev airport from countries where cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded.
