Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev answered questions of the German documentary filmmaker Steffi Wurster, who visited Tiraspol within filming feature documentary about the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester “Post No. 6. The three sides of the river”.

Lately it seems that the relations between Kishinev and Tiraspol are deadlocked. Indeed, there was Berlin. More precisely it was another round of negotiations in the 5+2 format held on June 2-3. It was a breakthrough after a lull. Certainly, it was all thanks to the efforts of Russia and Germany which is chairing the OSCE. The meeting resulted in signing of a protocol, drafted by the Russian delegation, with a variety of items that meet interests of ordinary citizens. What is the Pridnestrovian side assessment of the current stage of relations?

The President of Pridnestrovie Yevgeny Shevchuk received a delegation of the Parliamentary Team on Moldova of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, headed by its Chairperson Arta Dade. An exchange of views took place on issues related to the negotiation process in the 5+2 format. The meeting was also attended by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev.

On 10 June the PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Shornikov and delegation of the Republic of Poland, headed by Kacper Wańczyk, Head of Division of Ukraine and Moldova, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyas Szilagyi.

The sides discussed a number of topical aspects of bilateral cooperation between Hungary and Pridnestrovie, including in the framework of possible implementation of some joint projects in the social, humanitarian and tourism spheres.

The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and delegation of the Austrian Republic headed by the Head of Department for Management, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Michael Zimmermann. The meeting also was attended by the Head of Austrian Development Agency Gerhard Schaumberger.

The acting Foreign Minister, Vitaly Ignatiev, has commented to Novosti Pridnestrovya on the work of the “Permanent Conference on Political Issues...”, also known as the 5+2 format, which has resumed after a long pause.

NP: Mr. Ignatiev, on 2 and 3 June you took part in a 5+2 format round of negotiations, how could you characterize its results?
