Head of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie has commented on the incidents at Kishinev airport, during which RM’s competent authorities denied entry to several participants of the Pridnestrovian-Serbian international conference, including citizens of the Republic of Srpska and the Russian Federation.

“These incidents are unfortunately not the first in a series of discriminatory measures of the Republic of Moldova connected with attempts to restrict political, diplomatic, information and academic ties of Pridnestrovie. This is unfortunately the reality of the modern settlement process, it is a fact and a factor of communication of Pridnestrovie and Moldova,” - stated Vitaly Ignatyev during his speech at the conference “The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Srpska: protection of sovereignty in the face of international turbulence”.

According to the Foreign Minister of the PMR, these actions demonstrate that Moldova is afraid of open scientific discussions in Pridnestrovie, which are traditionally held at a high level.

“This is, in our opinion, a real indicator of the real ideological level of our neighbours, the indicator of the overall disintegration and the agony of the Moldovan authorities, which is hiding behind empty declarations of adhering to the European principles and standards. Such actions have nothing to do with European principles, universal norms and standards. By prohibiting the arrival of international scientists in Pridnestrovie, Moldova has committed the act of recognition of its own failure. And in our turn we became even more confident in the right path of freedom and independence, which was chosen by the people of Pridnestrovie,” - said Vitaly Ignatiev.
