Nina Shtanski Gave Lecture on the PMR’s Foreign Policy

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski participated in the Courses of Journalist's Mastery arranged in Yalta by the Institute of the CIS-countries and OOO RosUkrConsulting. The head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy gave a lecture to journalists on the foreign policy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic at the current stage, and responded to the questions regarding relations of Pridnestrovie with other states and international organizations.

Nina Shtanski told about development of the legislative branch regulating foreign relations of the Republic, explained major priorities of the policy fulfilled by the foreign office of the PMR, and interpreted peculiarities of Russia's position in the system of international contacts of Pridnestrovie.

Taking into account specific character of the audience, the diplomat paid special emphasis to how myths existing in the media-space affect the building of international image of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. In her words, myths being mostly negative are artificially kept alive and directly influence not only the image but also concrete decisions made by authoritative structures in relation to Pridnestrovie.

Nina Shtanski expressed her hope for the journalists in their work to be guided by reliable information rather than unverified data abundantly circulating in Internet. In its turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to render assistance to the journalistic community in receiving information –  in particular, currently organization of a press-tour across Pridnestrovie for Ukrainian journalists is being carried out in the PMR's MFA

In the course of the conversation with the journalists, the diplomat gave answers to the questions regarding geopolitical significance of Pridnestrovie, labour migration from the PMR, and measures undertaken by the President and the Government to improve economic situation, as well as perspectives of the Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations settlement.

Main content of the lecture will be published on the official website of the Pridnestrovian MFA.
