The Head of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestorvie was interviewed by the correspondent of the popular German newspaper Die Welt.

Among a wide range of issues answered by Nina Shtanski was the development of the negotiation process, the realisation of the course towards the Eurasian integration by Pridnestrovie.Asked about the impact of the Association Agreement between the RM and the EU on Pridnestrovie, the Diplomat noted several negative aspects of such influence. “Unfortunately, the situation with the signing this agreement is developing in such a way that regardless of how it will further develop Pridnestrovie is in a “lose-lose” situation, losing under any scenarios, ” – she said. Nina Shtanski reiterated that the Agreement did not take into account Pridnestrovie's interests, differences in tax systems, economic realities, the structures of the industry of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. “Under conditions of the unresolved conflict between the PMR and the RM, change of trade regime can complicate the situation,” – noted the Minister.Nina Shtanski informed that today the Pridnestrovian side is in talks with the EU to find a mechanism of interaction, and as seen in Pridnestrovie, the problem can be solved: the international community has already developed necessary tools. The economic relations between the EU and Northern Cyprus can serve as an example in this regard.

Despite the fact that to maintain the trade with the EU is an important task for Pridnestrovie, the main strategic course of the republic - the Eurasian integration – remains unchanged. “We are making significant efforts today to return companies to the Russian market. Pridnestrovie is interested in a wide development of trade relations” – said Nina Shtanski.

Special attention was paid to the interaction between Pridnestrovie and Russia. The Minister noted a great progress in the development of the bilateral dialogue on bilateral interministerial level, and she also stressed that due to the joint efforts of Special Representative of the President of Russia for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin and the leadership of Pridnestrovie the relations between Pridnestrovie and Russia reached a fundamentally new level over the past three years.Nina Shtanski answered other questions from the correspondent.
