The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan.

During the discussion the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to the current state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.

In particular, emphasis was placed on the issue of delivery of railway imports in Pridnestrovie. Vitaly Ignatiev accented the need for a speedy resolution of this acute problem, noting also that unilateral actions by Moldova and Ukraine on changing the railway scheme of cargoes delivery in Pridnestrovie, including fuel and lubricants in fact contradicts the provisions of the existing Protocol Decision “On the principles of the resumption of a full-scale freight railway communication through the territory of Pridnestrovie”. The diplomat also stated that the Moldova’s practice of regular refusal from the dialogue at different levels prevents the system-based work on the settlement of the railway problem.

During the meeting the sides addressed a number of other relevant aspects of the negotiation process. Particularly, they discussed some details of the upcoming visit of the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Cord Hinrich Meier-Klodt to Pridnestrovie.
