Alexander Stetsiuk met with Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the RM Roy Hans

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk and Charge d’affaires a.i. of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the RM Roy Hans during his first official visit to the republic.

In his welcoming speech Alexander Stetsiuk mentioned, that Pridnestrovie possesses a longstanding experience of successful and fruitful cooperation with the countries of the European Union. In given context he confirmed the interest in the beginning of system communication and in building of contacts with the Dutch side.

During the conversation Alexander Stetsiuk informed his interlocutor on the current situation in the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. According to him, during the latest years it was possible to fix the whole number of old problems in bilateral relations. Moreover, Alexander Stetsiuk paid attention to the fact that Pridnestrovie expects changes in other problems that remain unsolved. Firstly, this concerns problems in the sphere of telecommunication, politically motivated criminal cases and freight-passenger transportation. In this connection Deputy Minister expressed readiness of the Pridnestrovian side for activation of work on all the levels of the negotiation process and for soonest holding of the next meeting in 5+2 format.

During the meeting Roy Hans highly appreciated the progress achieved at the table of negotiations and noted, that reached agreements influence positively on people’s lives.

In the development of the discussion Dutch diplomat noticed, that monitoring and implementation of projects in the sphere of human rights will become one of priorities of activity of newly opened Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Kishinev. In given context Alexander Stetsiuk said that Pridnestrovie unilaterally accepted plenty of international treaties and conventions in the given sphere as a framework rules of law. The diplomat also reminded about the mission of the UN Senior Expert on Human Rights in Pridnestrovie Thomas Hammarberg, whose recommendations became a guiding line for the activity of state authorities of the PMR in the field of human rights.

At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to maintain working communication on the whole spectrum of issues of mutual interest.
