Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova visited Pridnestrovie

Today Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Farit Muhametshin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. Counselor-advisor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Vitaly Tryapitsyn and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev also took part in the meeting. This is the first visit of Farit Muhametshin who has been appointed on April 5, 2012 to the PMR's MFA.

Wide range of issues was discussed during the meeting, including security of rights and interests of Russian citizens and compatriots, residing in Pridnestrovie, and the issues of normalization of Moldo-Pridnestrovian relations.

Interlocutors paid special attention to the development of Russian-Pridnestrovian ties. In particular the possibility of activation of cooperation in humanitarian sphere was discussed.

Minister also informed Russian Ambassador about the instruction of the President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk to prepare new draft of the Foreign Policy Concept of the PMR which would consolidate the results of the referendum of the September 17, 2006 and which would define strategic course of the Pridnestrovian foreign policy towards Eurasian integration.

After the meeting in the PMR's MFA, on the proposal of the Russian side, Minister visited Mobile Consulate of the Russian Federation in Tiraspol. Problems which exist in consular service of Russian citizen, residing in Pridnestrovie, and perspectives for broadening consular legal service were discussed during the meeting with the head of the consulate.

The necessity of determining more effective mechanisms of securing civil rights of Russian citizens in Pridnestrovie was pointed out during the meeting.

The Parties agreed to continue consultations in order to seek for mutually acceptable solutions.
