On the meeting of the expert (working) groups on regulatory and document support of citizens

07/25/16

On 25 July 2016 the Kishinev office of the OSCE Mission hosted a meeting of the expert (working) groups from Pridnestrovie and Moldova on regulatory and document support of citizens.

Earlier the Pridnestrovian side suggested discussing the need for updating and faithful execution of the parties’ agreement on mutual recognition of documents issued by the competent authorities of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Returning to the execution of this agreement within mutually agreed parameters would effectively solve some problems faced by the inhabitants of Pridnestrovie since Moldovan authorities refuse to accept a number of documents issued by the competent authorities of Pridnestrovie.

The Moldovan side waived the discussion referring to the lack of mandate to debate on problems allegedly having political connotation. The Pridnestrovian delegation suggested the Moldovan side to clarify its powers and authority with the political representative of the Republic of Moldova and to return to the detailed study of this initiative during the next meetings.

The Pridnestrovian side believes that making the agreement on mutual recognition of documents functioning again is the most productive way to protect the interests of citizens of both parties, engaged in any legal arrangements.
