Vitaly Ignatiev makes a working visit to the capital of the Russian Federation

The diplomat held a number of meetings and gave on-air interview to the Russia 24 TV Channel

Today, during the visit to the capital of the Russian Federation Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev held a working meeting with Assistant to Deputy Prime Minister of the RF, Special Representative of the Russian President for Pridnestrovie D.O. Rogozin Dmitry Loskutov.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie. They exchanged views on the current situation in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict settlement, as well as the socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie in the context of unilateral restrictive measures taken against the republic by Moldova and Ukraine. Special attention was paid to issues related to Moldova and Ukraine’s agreement on the establishment of joint customs-border control on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border. During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev said that the implementation of this initiative will have the most negative consequences for Pridnestrovie, primarily in the economic sphere, as well as in the field of freedom of movement of people and vehicles.

At the end of the meeting the sides agreed to continue direct contacts on a wide range of topical issues.

During the visit Vitaly Ignatiev gave an interview on the television channel “Russia 24”. In the course of talking to the journalist the head of the Foreign Ministry of the PMR commented on a number of topical issues of foreign policy, including the recent statement of the OSCE Ministerial Council, as well as the current state of the negotiation process with Moldova.
