On the Meeting of the Leadership of the MFA with the Delegation of the British Embassy in RM

Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic Deputy Minister Vitaly Ignatiev held the meeting with Deputy Head of the British Embassy in the Republic of Moldova Amy Sherwood.

The meeting took place as part of established working contacts in the line of the foreign political office of Pridnestrovie and the British Embassy.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors discussed some results of a regular round of official consultations of the Permanent Conference on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process which took place on February 28-29, 2012, in Dublin.

Further, Deputy Minister told about the14 March meeting of Political Representatives in the Pridnestrovien Settlement from Pridnestrovie and Moldova Nina Shtanski and Yevgeny Karpov at the OSCE Mission Office in Bendery at which carrying out of the meeting of heads of expert (working) groups in extended format initiated by the Pridnestrovien side was agreed. This meeting will take place on March 19, 2012, at the OSCE Mission Office in Tiraspol with the participation of political representatives from Pridnestrovie and Moldova and the 5+2 representatives.

A separate topic of discussions was consideration of technical issues of preparation of the visit by Professor of International Security at the University of Birmingham Stefan Wolff in the framework of which holding of a seminar on guarantees in political talks is planned.

At the end of the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev and Amy Sherwood exchanged opinions on the prospects of implementation in Pridnestrovie of a number of projects of humanitarian character, in particular, in the sphere of sport, mass media and innovation technologies of managing business processes.

The sides agreed to continue systematic interaction on issues of common interest aimed at improvement of the situation in socio-humanitarian sphere.
